Idag är det Internationella kvinnodagen. När jag var yngre tyckte jag inte att den skulle uppmärksammas. Jag tyckte att en kvinnodag bara tydliggjorde att världen har 364 mansdagar. Sedan några år har jag ändrat mig. 

Så länge folk säger ”grattis!” till kvinnor idag behövs den här dagen. För grattis till vadå?

Att kvinnor blir systematiskt diskriminerade? Får lägre lön för samma jobb? Får kämpa mycket hårdare? Blir utestängda från viktiga poster och jobb? Får sämre sjukvård? Är mer stressade? Oftare sjukskrivna? Riskerar livet i en värld av dålig förlossningsvård? 

8 mars handlar inte om att fira, eller ens hylla, kvinnan. Det handlar om att uppmärksamma orättvisan och stödja kvinnors rättigheter. 

I fredags var vi på bio och såg Kingsman: The Secret Service. Visst var det för få kvinnor i den generellt, men de två lite större kvinnliga rollerna var i alla fall kick ass. Även om den ena kvinnan ganska snabbt degraderades ordentligt. Och filmen var oväntat bra, kul grepp med klipp och musik tex. Men så: plötsligt ska hjälten rädda (den svenska!) prinsessan, men endast om han får en kyss. Och hon svarar att om han även räddar världen får han ta henne ”in the asshole”. Det kunde ju ha räddats upp (knappt) om hon svarade något dräpande och gick därifrån när han räddat henne, men istället får en se en närbild på hennes nakna rumpa. Fy fan! Hela filmen totalförstördes för mig direkt, och min respekt för de många duktiga skådisarna störtdök.

Regissören har fått mycket kritik, men svarar att han anser att handlingen, karaktärerna och manuset ”empower women”. Att han ens kan tro det gör att vi behöver Internationella kvinnodagen.
