Ulfsunda slott: mycket, mycket bra

Vi åker ju iväg på hotellweekends ibland. Oftast på vanliga hotell, men någon gång på slott. Rånäs, där vi bodde på vår tre-årsdag tyckte vi var väldigt bra, men nu har vi hittat en ny favorit.

Ulfsunda slott! I julklapp gav jag Johan en natt på Ulfsunda slott. Jag hittade slottet i någon tidning och köpte ett ”privatpaket”. En natt i dubbelrum med eftermiddagsfika, tre-rättersmiddag och frukost för 1 995 kr per person. 3 000 för en natt är mycket pengar, men en väldigt bra julklapp. Ulfsunda slott ligger dessutom i Ulvsunda, Bromma, och går mycket enkelt att nå med SL. Viktigt för oss.

Det började mindre bra. Jag bokade via mail och det blev oerhört rörigt när de svarade med otydliga följdfrågor, dåliga svar på mina frågor och lång tid mellan mailen. Men till slut var vi inbokade en lördag-söndag i januari. Men på torsdagen, bara dagar före vistelsen, ringde de och avbokade oss. Kvinnan i luren var väldigt trevlig, men tyvärr var vi de enda inbokade gästerna och då kunde de inte hålla slottet öppet. Det förstår man ju (och två dagar före lön första månaden efter jul kanske det inte är så många som vill bo på slott), men för mig hade det varit bättre att få den infon så tidigt som möjligt, medan slottet ville vänta till sista stund för att se om någon annan bokade in sig. De lovade ”att vi ska ta extra bra hand om er” som kompensation.

Nästa helg vi kunde var nu i slutet av mars. Men nu hade slottet ett förmånligt pris om man ville boka till en natt. Så i fredags tog vi tunnelbana och buss till Ulfsunda slott. Och det var här det vände. Det allra mesta var mycket mycket bra när vi väl kom till slottet.

Det började med att vi blev uppgraderade till svit istället för rum. Deras finaste svit, bröllopssviten. Som dessutom var inredd i precis den afrikanska/koloniala stil vi älskar (slump förstås, men en fantastisk slump). När vi kommer in i sviten står en flaska champagne, choklad och färsk frukt på bordet. En bra kompensation!

Maten
På fredagen hade vi picknick på rummet, bland annat med mat från Delikatessgrossisten som lägligt hade haft en försäljningseftermiddag i TV4s reception. Frukosten på lördag var bra. Allt man ville ha fanns, och allt var gott, men det var inget överdåd. Det enda som var lite trist var att det bara fanns två sorters bröd. Ett mycket gott surdegsbröd och en vanlig förpackning färdigskivat rostbröd. Några ytterligare val hade gjort frukosten perfekt.

Slottet är noga med att inte kalla eftermiddagens matstund för Afternoon tea. Bra. För det var ett mycket bra eftermiddagsfika, men inte alls afternoon tea. Frukost, bakverk, småkakor, godis och kaffe samt te. Massor med tesorter. Tyvärr inget kallt att dricka, vilket blir törstigt för mig som inte dricker kaffe eller te.

Middagen var också bra. Kockarna har tävlat i diverse tävlingar, bla Årets kock. Förrätten skulle bestå av fisk, och det imponerade på oss när både bokning, kök och servis kom ihåg att vi inte äter det. I vanliga fall kan man påminna om det hundra gånger och ändå får man fisk på tallriken. Nu fick vi istället en sallad på närproducerad blåmögelost, gurka och gulbetor samt hasselnötter. Till detta en vattenkrassemajjonäs och små dekorationer av inlagd gurka. Väldigt gott!

Bröd serverades; tre sorter (varför hade man intet av detta på frukostbordet?), alla mycket goda. Varmrätten bestod av lammbog med korn/lammkorv, jordärtskockspuré och en röra på tryffel och Karl-Johansvamp. Dessert var rödbeteor, blåbär, frusen yoghurt och maltsmulor. Låter knasigt men var väldigt gott. Till kaffet fick man en bit marmeladkonfekt.

Drycken: vi tog vinpaketet trots av vi dyrt och heligt lovat varandra att inte göra det. Vi dricker aldrig så mycket vin och klarar helt enkelt inte av tre glas till en middag. Men den extremt entusiastiske sommeliern lyckades övertyga oss. Det var kul att testa vinerna som skulle passa så bra till och de var goda, men absolut inga viner vi skulle välja eller köpa själva. Därför kändes priset, 660 kronor för båda, högt.

Portionerna var genomgående små, vilket kändes riktigt skönt. Det enda negativa med middagen var att allt gick för snabbt. På 70 minuter hade vi klarat av en trerättersmiddag. Å andra sidan vill man ju utnyttja slottet så på ett sätt skönt att inte bli fast i en matsal.

Rummet
Alla rum på slottet är olika och är inredda av olika (?) designers. Vi bode i rum 211, bröllopssviten. Här var temat kolonialt, afrikanskt. Precis vår stil, alltså! Visst, det hade dragits några varv för mycket, men om de inte tagit i hade det känts som att vi var hemma. Rummet var väldigt stort och luftigt. Badrummet likaså och mellan badrummet och hotellrummet var väggen helt av glas. Här, till skillnad från Clarion Sign, kunde man dock dra för gardiner. Badkaret stod precis utanför badrumsglasväggen; alltså ute i själva rummet. Lyxigt!

Ulfsunda skriver på sin sajt att rum 211 inte kan beskrivas i ord utan måste ses. Det låter fjantigt, men det är sant. Rum 211 på Ulfsunda slott ligger nu delad etta med rummen på Park Hyatt i Tokyo på min hotellrumslista.
