Appopå gårdagens nyhet om att Björklund vill införa skolk i betygen började vi diskutera vårt eget skolkande hemma.

Sambon berättade att ”klart man stannade hemma någon dag fast man inte var sjuk. Men jag hängde aldrig med kompisar istället för att gå till skolan, och jag anmälde mig alltid som sjuk”. Våra erfarenheter visade sig vara vitt skilda, vilket ledde oss in på skolsystemet. För det första tror jag aldrig att jag har sjukanmält mig till skolan. Den rutinen fanns inte alls. Trots det har jag aldrig blivit anklagad för skolk. Kanske för att jag är/var en ”duktig flicka”?

Mitt skolk kom de tre sista månaderna, sista året på gymnasiet. Skoltrött? Inte alls. Men vi fick sätta i system att välja bort vissa lektioner för att klara våra läxor. Vi kunde ha religiontenta på onsdagmorgon, historietenta på onsdag eftermiddag och stor presentation (skriftlig och muntlig) torsdag morgon. Samt vanliga läxor ovanpå det. Snabbt insåg vi att betyget hängde mer på tentor, prov och presentationer än på närvaron de sista månaderna. Valet att skolka var alltså mycket enkelt.

När jag såhär elva år senare tänker tillbaka, minns jag tiden med fasa. Vi var övertygade om att gymnasiebetyget betydde allt och de sista sex veckorna sov vi fyra, fem timmar per natt för att hinna med (nej, det var inte studentskivorna vi skulle hinna med). Direkt efter studenten åkte mamma och jag på en All Inclusive till Dominikanska Republiken. Inte alls vår stil, vare sig charter, palmer eller all inclusive, och ändå minns jag den semestern som oerhört bra. Nu förstår jag varför.
