Ärlighet varar längst?

När jag blev av med jobbet i december bestämde jag mig för att vara helt ärlig.

Istället för att säga något i stil med att ”jag är spelbar men har förstås en del krokar ute”, sa jag som det var: ”detta var helt oväntat för mig och jag har ingen aning om vad jag ska göra nu. Jag behöver ett jobb!”. Jag möttes av blandade reaktioner.

De imponerade
En del tyckte jag var ”stark” och att det var ”coolt” att jag vågade. När jag sa att jag tyckte att det var det enda rätta, att jag måste fick jag ofta svar som ”ja, men ändå”.

De generade
Många tyckte det var jättejobbigt att jag var så ärlig. Att inte ha något jobb är ju fult i Sverige och att jag var så öppen generade människor. Allt från ”nej, du är mellan jobb” till ”arbetssökande heter det!” var förslag på meningar jag borde välja istället. Många sa också ”äsch, det kommer gå bra, du får snart ett nytt jobb” och det är ju trevligt att de tror så om mig. Men när jag då fortsatte på ärlighetens bana och svarade ”jo, men om alla säger det, och ingen ger mig jobb så kommer det inte gå bra” skruvade de flesta på sig.

De oroliga
Vissa var oroliga. ”Ska du verkligen säga sådär? Du kanske framstår som desperat?”.

Varför valde jag ärligheten då?
Jag var ju desperat! Jag blev av med jobbet utan att välja det själv, och jag behövde ett nytt jobb, en ny inkomst. Min första tanke var just att det var pinsamt. Det är ju som sagt fult att vara utan jobb. Men så insåg jag att situationen inte berodde på mig, och att endast jag kunde bestämma att det inte var pinsamt. Och att jag aldrig skulle få något nytt jobb om jag inte lät folk veta att jag var tillgänglig.

Så här efteråt kan jag tycka att det var ett spännande experiment, och jag är helt nöjd med mitt beslut och mitt agerande.
